NISA Nation now has announced their latest member club, continuing to add to their club quanity. And we'll see more announcements over the next weekdays, as NISA Nation is expected to announce 16 clubs, between a Southwest and a Northeast region. Announced through Twitter yesterday, NISA's second member club is officially NJ Teamsterz FC! The Teamsterz had been looking at NISA for a little while now, and this announcement was expected since a couple of months ago.
Based in Bayonne, New Jersey, the club was founded in 2017, and joined the UPSL as an expansion club. They played there for 2 seasons in 2018 and 2019, finishing 3rd and 2nd, respectively. After those two seasons, they left the UPSL. In 2020, just before COVID-19 hit, the club announced they'd join NISA, and start play in 2021.
However, of course the pandemic hit in March, and the season was cancelled, as well as most everything else. The club would have to wait 1 season to play, at least, as the pandemic raised a lot of questions. Like, whether or not most clubs would survive.
In the end, NJ Teamsterz continued through the pandemic. Later that year, they rebranded their logo and name, to NJ Teamsterz, in an effort to become more modern for Gen Z. Then it circulated that they would look to join the then newly created NISA league, NISA Nation. They waited for a couple of months for the league to start up.
Then, the announcement became official! Just yesterday, on August 23, NISA Nation announced through Twitter that the club will be the league's second club. The Teamsterz will look to use the format of NISA Nation to ready them for professionalism in coming years. The point of this incredible new league is after all, to grow clubs so they can be ready to become professional!
Be ready for more announcements coming soon for NISA Nation!
