Pros and Cons: Would a NISA Soccer Federation be a Good Idea?

If you asked me to describe one word for the United States Soccer Federation, the word I'd choose is: corrupt. The entire federation that governs our country's soccer doesn't care one bit about actually governing it. They let new leagues come in each year, and they let the system continue to be closed. That's why the word corrupt is perfect. Now, a new federation seems like a good idea, so we're going to write the Pros and Cons on it.

Pros:

Pro 1: It gives NISA the freedom to operate an actual full open system.

Technically, NISA operates an open system. But not a full one. Because of the Pro League Standards, NISA can't do Pro-Rel from amateur to pro. But if they created their own fed, they'd have the freedom to do this.

Pro 2: It positions NISA away from the corrupt USSF

A NISA Federation would position NISA away from the corrupt USSF. It would give the new federation a clean start, so they'd be able to do everything now on their own, without anybody above them directing then.

Pro 3: Fixes the problem by creating the first open system in the country.

As long as NISA is under the USSF, they won't have a full on open system. But if NISA goes on it's own, they will. And the problem for soccer in the country will be mostly solved.

Cons:

Con 1: NISA may not have as much experience to pull it off

NISA is still a relatively young system. Making a whole new federation with them would be quite hard, as they will need more experience.

Con 2: FIFA may not allow another federation licensed under the same country

Two federations in the same country is quite a long stretch. And I don't think FIFA would allow it to happen.

Con 3: Clubs moving from federation to federation would be hard

If NISA did the federation, they'd need expansion clubs and existing clubs to join the system. However, it's very hard to go from fed to fed. USL already has an existing license with clubs on NISA, and it would only get harder.

Now that we've gone through some of the pros and cons, what do you think? Do you think NISA should do it, or not? The post on Twitter will come with a poll attached in the thread below it, stay tuned!
